Default Foggy Morning

Here is a photo that I took at the end of September at Moonstone Beach in Cambria, CA. The photo is in color but the fog makes it appear black and white. I would appreciate any comments anyone has and suggestions how I could have improved this shot.

I like the contrast between the hard rocks and soft water, the stationary rocks and the mobile water.
Great job of freezing the wave as it crashed into the rocks.
However, here is one thing I would like you to consider.
If you was a painter and decided to paint this scene, would you have spent the time and effort to paint that entire top area gray?
I'm guessing more that likely not. You would try to use as much as the canvas as possible to portray the scene.
What you see thru the lens is your canvas, use it as a painter would.
In this case I would crop a good bit of the sky out.
