Default Old weather-beaten barn

I took this shot right at sunrise this morning. I'm pretty happy with the colour and exposure but I was not able to keep the sky from blowing out on the right side. Does it distract too much from the rest of the shot? As always, any constructive criticism is welcomed.

This is a really good photo. I like it. I don't think the sky on the right side is distracting. I like the way it's a little bit brighter on that side. I think it's important to not worry too much about the fact that some veteran photographer might say that the sky is too "blown out." You could worry all day about the technical aspect of photography (which is important to a degree) but the simple reality is that this photo is pleasing.

I like the time of year you took this shot. It feels dead like the barn. I feel this photo tells me a story. I wonder of the people who built the barn so many years ago. What were their dreams and hardships. Great shot.

Nice capture.
The blown out sky to the right is rather subtle therefore I don't find horribly distracting.
I like the colors on the barn but would be tempted to copy it and try a b&w conversion also to compare.

I love this shot - I am a sucker for any old barn, they have so much character! I wouldn't have even noticed the sky.

I really like this shot. I have always found old structures and interesting subject as they all have a story to tell. As said I don't find the brighter portion of the sky to be much of a distraction. Great Job!

I'd like to add my "I like", but also that I think this photo would look good as a b&w. Did you try a conversion?

Thanks everyone for the comments. I guess the flaw that I saw in the bright sky wasn't "fatal." Here is a quick B&W conversion as a couple of you suggested. For me, the subtle colours of the original are more evocative.

Although I'm a huge fan of b&w photos ,I too agree the color vesion is the better of the two.
Sometimes you don't know until you try..

Hey, very nicely done! I absolutely love this shot. This is more my style of photography and I haven't seen much of it on this forum. I have a fascination with decaying/dilapidated structures.
The sky is just a tad bright on the one side, however, I think it adds to the contrast of the barn against the sky and the first thing that draws my eye is the barn. Also, the b&w conversion is nice, but I much prefer the colored photo as it adds more character and tells more of a story. I also like the angle you decided on.
