I like your idea here.
First thing I noticed was the circler item to the right which left me wondering what it is.
With all the diagnol lines you have going in the foreground this object is a bit distracting.
I think I would like to see more foreground. Give a little space in front of moss covered roots.
Let the viewer's eyes wonder into the scene, across the roots and then out to the background.

Looks like some nice subject matter to work with there with that dark green moss. Not a bad capture here and I would agree with tvoelcker's suggestions. To add a couple thoughts I was having I would say the top of the rise just beyond the logs just about splits the image in half so bringing in more of the foreground, as suggested, will help split the image in a better place along the rule of thirds. The log end to the right is a bit distracting, for me it is that it is being cut by the edge of the frame so either cropping it out would help or it may help to bring it further in to the picture but that one is hard to say without being behind the camera.
Good job though, keep it up!

Mike

I see your point and I have to agree

I agree that the cut log on the right edge is distracting. I tried a crop constrained to a standard 10x8 print, cropping the log out and this is what I came up with. I also bumped the midtones a little to bring out more detail in the shadows. If you want me to take this down let me know.
