Default I need advice on this sunset over the river...

This was taken with a point and shoot nikon. I was on a bridge so there wasn't a lot of options for the foreground like I would have prefered... But I need advice on the composition/exposure or anything else.

I love the dramatically colored sky, and its reflection in the river. In fact, the reflection in the river really provides a foreground for you. Perhaps I would have preferred a little less of the big, solid black area along the river banks, but as you mentioned, that's where you had to take it from.

As far as comments about exposure, I like it. I can see a little noise in the top -- could you provide EXIF (exposure) info, so that we could see what settings you used?

I think it's gorgeous. The only thing I think would make it any better is if there weren't a shadow on the left side of the river, but I love the picture. Good job.

I agree with both of you, I wish there was less of the solid black tree-line. I have had trouble with that when taking pictures of the sunset. How can I avoid that? There is no front-light on the tree-line since I'm facing the sun and flash would just ruin everything. And as far as exposure goes... I had my exposure set at right in the middle (it's a nikon l100 point and shoot so I don't have a lot of control over exposure, aperture, etc.) There is a setting on my camera called dawn/dusk that I used for this picture. Thanks for the feedback.
