Default Fall Reflection

Camera: Nikon D90
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 20 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Flash: No Flash

I took this picture this morning and I'm trying to apply all the rules of photograhphy. I wanted a fast shutter speed so I opened my aperture. I didn't think DOF was that important for this shot. I really would like some feedback, mostly on the way I used the reflection off the water. Let me know what you think?

Hi, I am in no way an expert but here are my pennies worth.

I generally agree with the Thirds Rule, I like to see the horizon either on the bottom third or the top third of the image. Can you crop so that you have more sky? Or would it be possible to zoom in on the tree on the left while still keeing the full reflection? Also is the horizon straight? it feels slightly off.

I really like the color and the reflection is good.
Hope that gives you a few ideas.

Thanks CW, I really appreciate your critique. I tried cropping some of the bottom out and I straightened it a little bit. Does it look better?

To me, the new version looks much better. Nice shot!

Hi

Nice, that is what I had in mind. I do like the second one better, more focal.
