Default Cleveland (Rock Hall) at night

Hey all this is my first crack at a cityscape. I tried it at night and during the day. I really liked the night much better. The white on the Rock Hall and the golds in the other buildings look great to me. I am taking a intro to Digital Photography at my local Comm. College and this is 1 of 2 prints I will turn in. I printed it 13x19 first time for that, its going on my wall. I will post the other tomorrow to keep in line with th rules here.

Olympus E-500
f 4.7
ISO-1000
1/20 sec.
I would like any feedback or tips you may have for me. I am so new to this I am not even sure wat to ask for in a critique.....so it's an open forum here!!!

hi!

is it ISO 1000 or 100?

how did you took this shot? aperture priority? or shutter priority?
what i do in Long exposure shot is i guage it first in aperture priority (to know how much time do i need for the shutter to blink in order to have the right exposure) then, i use manual and try to experiment with shutter speed. just remember to keep the ISO to a minimum (preferably ISO 100) in order to lessen the noise. shooting in RAW would be great for fixing WB also.

also, i often use f/3.5-f/5.6 in long exposure shots. i'd like to have some starry-like effects on the street lights so i use F/7.1~F/11.

I shot this in full manual mode. The ISO was jacked up, but I don't see all the noise. It may be from shrinking the image to post it here. I printed this out 13x19 for class and it is a true clean black. I will go out and try it with your suggestions tonight and look at the differences. I am also shooting in raw. I used the auto white balance. I am not advanced enough in my experience to mess with the white balance in the camera (yet) I will try it tonight.

Thanks for your advise

Ken

Why did the ISO go up? did you use auto ISO? Keeping ISO at a fixed low level and using a tripod should be better as mentioned above.
The other point is that I found the image to be kind of un-balanced, ie. kind of lacking something there on the right and top. To me, it is either too simple or too busy on the right of the image.
