I am still learning my camera. This was one of the first pictures I took. I think I have grown since this picture.

I use a Kodak Z740 Zoom Digital Camera.

Please read through the critique rules (posted at the top of each sub forum). What are you looking for critique on?

It just looks like the base a tree shot from eye level. Not very interesting.

Default The tree

I have had friends see some of my newer pictures and wanted me to post one of my pictures and get feedback on how I can improve. I was trying to post an ocean picture, but the size was saying it was too big. Taking pictures and posting them is getting me out of my comfort zone and trying to build my self-confidence. I am finishing up a class called Introduction to Digital Photography at a local community college. This picture was taken before the class. I will post more.

With this picture, I am looking for how I can really learn my camera and how I could have shot this tree and not have it be a boring shot.

Hi canyongirl and welcome to DPS (belatedly). I hope you are enjoying your course. Sounds like the sort of thing I would like to do, but I am 62. Were there any old fogies on your course. Next time your upload fails due to size of picture, simply crop it down and try again. It worked for me. Look forward to seeing some of your post course shots soon. God bless for now. PAUL

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the welcome. I am enjoying my course. It ends this week. It was a half semester course. I am 56 and yes, there was some older people in the class. You commented on the other pictures I took on the sharing forum and those were the ones I thought I had size problems. I will post more pictures. God bless. Trudi
