Default Rainy Street Shot

Hey all,

I went out the other night shooting and it started to rain on the way home. I shot this after doing some long exposures and I like the way the light fractures in a web and the woman with the umbrella but I'm not sure if it's TOO blurry/OOF to make a good shot. I tend towards the artsy shots but this might be a little too far. Was wondering what everyone's thoughts were towards this.

EXIF:
Camera: Nikon D40
Exposure: 0.25 sec (1/4)
Aperture: f/1.8
Focal Length: 35 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Flash: No Flash

Thanks for looking!

It almost works, I don't think the blurryness is a problem though. It gives the photo a damp, busy astetic that converys the misery of a damp comute. Afterall "sharpness is a bourgeois concept"

I think the image is just a bit busy for this to fully come across. The background is distracting and detracts from the blury lights and sheltering people. Its probaly a touch over exposed as well. It can probably be fixed in post but a touch of exposure compensation may have acomplished it in camera.

I'll give the PP a go if you don't mind

thanks for the pp try. it does look better. I hadn't noticed the overexposure on the lights in the top - i guess I was more focused on the bottom to see it. It's been raining here all week so I will have to go out and try again keeping this in mind.

Thanks fletch!
