Default Fountain

Hi everyone,
I'm new here, so please forgive me if i'm not under the right category...
So, here's a shot I took in a park and was hoping for any critique anyone would have for me. I am extremely new at this, so any tips are greatly appreciated!
Thanks everyone!

Lauren

Hmmmm, perhaps a smaller apature to blur out the background? At the moment the background feels a bit distracting, particularly because its the same colour as the statue.

It seems to me the background is more of the focus, im sure you werent going for that but thats where my eye goes. I agree with Luke. I do like the lines of the fountain, but it also draws the eye towards the background

I like the composition and the DOF but the photo lacks contrast and color.

Default I like it

i think you have seen a great subject found an interesting angle, made a well lit distinctive pic.
i would centre the statue in the image, but i am forever coming home to find i am slightly off centre with a shot (did it this weekend with a 2 church arches...DOH!), but its a good shot.

I'm not a pro...but the first thing I noticed was the statue being off center...

I'm not sure how to find the exif info, could please help me out with that?
And as for all of the other comments, thanks everyone for replying!
>I was definitely going for a centered shot, but did not succeed, lol...!
>Armando- I love the difference you made in the photo you edited...what tools did you use??
>I like the idea of using a smaller aperature to make the statue more the point of focus, i'll have to keep it in mind. I'm just starting to get the idea of aperature, and shutter speed, so i'll definitely be experimenting with them in the near future!

Thanks again everyone!!!!!
