Hi, just wondering what, if anything, i could have done to improve this shot? It was very much a case of "ooh cool sky pull up the car and get the shot"

So if it wasn't that, in an ideal world how should i shoot sunsets/skylines? How can i improve this picture? Thanks

nice shot... the light is just coming out of that one little hole in the clouds...

could maybe try cropping some of the sky out... the real point of interest is the hole and the light, and there is a lot of foreground and a lot of clouds... of the two i'd rather the clouds be cut cuz then you can run your eyes up the foreground right to the light...

something else to consider... could maybe clone out the tree on the very right, and maybe the next 4 small trees + the telephone pole as well... could make it look like the sky is opening on an oasis if the only place the sun shines is where the trees are... just a bizarre thought i had

One thing to do would be to add some kind of foreground interest to these kind of shots....broken fence (typical but never gets old), an old car, some flowers, farm animals, etc.
