The camera is confused when the its sitting still and the stablizer is on, you'll get some blurring. I read this somewhere and then tested and it really is true. At least on Olympus camera anyway

I read a DIY solution to stabilising your tripod which might work: try hanging a bag with a few stones/weights in from the centre if the tripod. Having said that, I think the real problem is that your aperture is wide-ish - try narrowing the aperture and exposing it for longer. You might need to experiment a bit with the settings to get it right. Also, you might get a more interesting composition if you lower the tripod and angle the camera up a little more so that you get a diagonal or two running from closer to the corner. Experiment, too, with moving the camera a little to the right? I think it's a nice shot though.

Thank you for your advise - now I will have to wait for a rain to stop so I can implement it.

Really liked your web sites, buy the way

Thanks for visiting my site.
as for the Oly issue, i had the same sentiment upon buying my olympus before. Olympus do have issues on AF on low light. (i think it's because of the smaller sensor compared to other cameras) If it's low light photography you're interested with, full frame camera is the right choice (i prefer nikon). anyways, owning olympus have its advantages and disadvantages. try using your olympus more, you might like it even more if you're in to sports photography and birding...

Hi there,

I went back and took more shots of the same spot trying to implement all the advises (well, at least most of them that I could remember). I did some postproduction adjustments too. I think it looks much better now. What is your opinion?

Don Mills Centre - third take

Thank you

I would have taken the pic in a different position, maybe more left, to put the end of the street at the middle-right part of the scene.
