Default Frozen Lake

Frozen Lake.JPG

Camera: Nikon D60
Exposure: 1/500 sec.
Aperture: f/11
Focal Length: 55mm
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 0
Flash: No flash

Any Ideas on how to get the silhoutte darker on the bridge without making the grass darker? Any other input on how to improve the picture would be great as well.

That's a tough image to get right. What metering mode did you use for them image? I think the image might have been more interesting if you exposed for the foreground and darkened the background more. The blown out ice is kind of distracting. Also you probably want to straighten out your horizon. Sorry I could not be more help, still learning myself.

If I would have used a Circular Polarizing Filter would that of kept the ice from getting as blown out as it did?
