Default Steps in San Fran: Something Different

Here's another city shot from my trip to San Fran. I was trying to get the overall scale of the steps...this hill was so steep that they actually have steps in them...crazy. I was actually trying to find an angle which would not show the green paint but after spending some time in Lightroom I came up with this. Thoughts? Too dark? I liked the dark B&W with bright green pop! It almost looks like the green is slimy footsteps.

Nice and interesting composition and bnw conversion here... i like the vanishing point, lines leading the eyes up the frame works well too... about the green i'm not so sure as there is no reason to attract viewers attention to it.., unless it was a grafitti on the wall / floor but that's a different thing..

Yay, a reply! Thanks for your feedback!

I just took a look at this on my work computer and it actually looks a bid dark. Can I get some feedback on this? I may bump up the exposure just a bit. I have one of the old Apple Cinema Displays hooked up to my MacBook and I can't adjust the brightness for some reason...it's actually quite annoying. My X-Rite Display i1 recommends 100 candelas but when I can't bump down the brightness to get to this point; I'm up around the 125 area. I'm new to these calibration devices so any help there would be GREATLY appreciated.

As far as the paint goes...

It actually was graffiti on the steps. I forget what it said, but I was actually TRYING to get an angle that would reduce the presence of the paint but when I converting to B&W I thought I would leave this section of green alone to see what it would look like. I actually like the result more then B&W throughout the entire picture.

It appears too dark to me on an un-calibrated monitor.

It looks a bit dark to me too (uncalibrated monitor), but not too much. I still like it alot, especially the green that you've left.

Thanks for your input kencaleno.

I just moved (finally a homeowner) but my stuff is all packed away. Once I get my monitor setup I'm going to adjust the exposure to lighten this up a bit.

It's funny, when I first downloaded these pics and rated them in Lightroom, this pic was at the bottom of the bucket. After about 5 mins of PP, this photo is now one of my favorites. The joy and wonders of PP
