I've been trying to learn to use my 10-20mm. This is 6 exposures overlayed with gimp. I love the way the sky turned out, but am wondering if the land looks too dark.
To give a time frame, it was about 15 to 20 min. before dark and the exposure difference between the sky and land was about 2 full stops. ![]() Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 lens Canon 40D ISO-100 Spot meter off sky-6 exposures from -2 to +3 F/9 10mm Last edited by PrimeTime; 09-24-2009 at 02:50 PM. |

Yes, i do think the part where there is a hill is too dark, Needs to be lightened up just a tad to give it some detail

I think that the foreground is actually too bright -- my eye is pulled between the fence rails, but then stops in that bright area (it's stopped by the dark hills, which are indeed too dark). Then there is the bright area of the sky, but it's not pulling my attention very much.
Overall, my comment would be: the brightness is awkwardly distributed. With 6 exposures, I bet you could get it to be more even and pleasant.
