Default Maine light house

This is my first time posting something for critique since I'm really new at all of this, I've been a little afraid to...lol. I'd really like to know though what I can do to improve this picture. Should I crop out more of the sky?

Thanks for looking.

I like the shot very much, but if you are including the foreground in the depth of field you might want to add some light to bring out the details of the shoreline.

Croping the sky will makes sense as the sky is emtpy and takes up a lot of the frame. However I fear this will make the photo cramped and loose the context that the space gives to the lighthouse. I find myself wishing you had more of the frame below and to the right of the lighthouse, maybe a landscape format rather than portrait.

I have to agree with fletch that cropping will cramp it and I would prefer a landscape orientation so i can see more of the right side of the light house
