Default shadows too dark?

I took this shot today in the downtown area. I tweaked it a bit, but may have gone a little dark in the shadow areas. What do you think. Keep in mind I wanted a high contrast look.

The shadows are okay, given your preference for a high contrast effect, but it is a shame you chopped off Adam's head in the mural! Could you have taken a step or two back?

Agreed -- the shadows look fine and really help to bring out the bright colors. I would much have preferred to see more of the mural, and probably on less of an angle. Alternately, try getting up much closer and focus only on a detail -- this mural has lots of them!
