Default Composition Critique Please

Hi All,

Please could you give me some feedback on the composition of this shot? I wanted to experiment with HDR as it was a very bright day and wanted to try and capture that feel also.

20090829_DSC_24787980_HDR

EXIF:
1/13 sec
F16
18mm
ISO 100
Nikon D80

Many thanks.

This picture has great potential. you really found a beautiful corner and the right angle to depict it.
I'd suggest you crop out the bush in the bottom and present a simmetri image after you straight it up. I tiunk the HDR did a bad job with some of the trees in the background and they did not overlap properly. They look blurred - shaken or doubled, kind of.
I'd also play with the luminosity of the blues and get a darker blue sky like you get from a UV filter.

All best!

I think that for capturing the very bright day, you made marvels. For the composition, i would have tryed to move a bit to the left to get a more balanced photo to have the stream dead center and not leading to the right.

Many thanks for the ideas. Here is an updated version taking your advice. The composition certainly looks stronger. The Images for the HDR were taken hand held, so that's the likely cause of the blur; I must use my tripod in future.

Good point. Getting it right in the camera rather than in post. More to think about before clicking the shutter.

Mainly to get the blue in the sky, but I think it looks a bit better overall for doing it?
