Good Day All,
I am looking for some advise on the overall apperance of this photo. I am not sure if it is too dark / too Orange, but something just does not feel right with it. Some Lightroom post processing was done (Temp, Exposure, Highlight Recovery, Black Clipping) Additionally, you can see more at my photostream ![]() Photo / Camera Settings Exposure: 1/4000 sec Aperture: f/4.0 Focal Length: 75 mm ISO Speed: 160 Exposure: -0.76 Exposure Mode: Auto White Balance: Auto Exposure Program: Aperture-priority AE Lens: EF75-300mm f/4-5.6 USM |

I don't think the problem is being too orange. For me it's the blown out sun and the way the lifeguard chair is cut off. Perhaps if you had taken it farther back or at a lower angle, you could have used the empty guard chair for foreground interest.
You also want to maintain the lovely clouds that can be so beautifully lit at this time of day. Perhaps getting up a bit earlier you will be able to catch the sun lower in the sky or just starting at the edge of the horizon or a little out of the frame so you don't get the blown highlight. Here is an interesting thread. This article is about sunsets, but it can apply to sunrises, too. |
