Miners Wheel Black and White

Please let me know what you think about my composition and my photo editing. This is my very first post here at DPS.


Camera: Sony DSLR-A300
Exposure: 0.013 sec (1/80)
Aperture: f/11.0
Focal Length: 20 mm
ISO Speed: 100

That's a nice big head sheave! Welcome to DPS -- do you have any specific questions about your photo? It'll help you a lot if you can identify specific things you want to learn about, since it will help to focus you as well when you take photos.

I personally like the shot here in BW. How was the color version if you have one? Some might say that the clouds are a bit too dark and distracting swallowing up your subject, but I happen to like the darkness of the the clouds.

You did a great job with the B&W conversion there are blacks and there are whites and it has some good contrast.

composition strikes me as quite nice; I also like the level of contrast.
