Default Riverboat on the Lake

I took this shot a couple years ago on Lake Tahoe. I really like the contrast between the boat lights and colors and the black water as well as the reflection and the dock leading to the boat. I'm just not sure if it's the "right" composition. Would appreciate any thoughts on the composition itself.

I'm no expert by any means but I think the composition looks fine. On first glance I thought maybe lower the boat a bit but then that would cut out a lot of the reflection and take away from the overall image.

I really like this image.

Hmm right off the bat I saw nothing wrong with the composition, but then I took a longer second look... Maybe if you cropped off some of the empty black at the top of the image, that would help? Instead of having the boat and ?shoreline? right through the middle of the picture, cropping would bring it up closer to the top, creating a more pleasing composition. Just my opinion

I would like to see less black at the top, and more of the reflection at the bottom. Maybe the boat itself at the top third and the reflection occupying the middle and bottom third of the shot. Too bad you lost the top/bottom of the reflection.

But I only decided all that after you invited comment. At first look, I liked it.
