Default Coastal Wasteland

Coastal Wasteland

What's the general concensus on this shot? Do people like it or not? I find that if I could've zoomed a bit more on the ship it would be more apparent. However, I do like that it's not the most important element of the photo. Just let me know what could be changed or enhanced in the future. Thanks.

I didn't even notice the ship until you mentioned it -- my focus is on the tree. The word "desolate" really comes to mind, in fact, I'd like to see the horizon even higher so as to emphasize the pond and tree.

I like the effect, but then again, this is the sort of photo that I like and like to take. Others may disagree.

I agree, In fact the ship is a bit of a distraction or as HP suggest should be bigger if that was what you wanted to emphasize.

Would it have been possible to use the tree to lead the eye to the ship?

Thumbs up

why focus on the far away ship if the log is beautiful. Makes me wonder who dragged it all the way out there. great picture.

I completely disagree, the is ship is NOT a distraction ! It's tiny size gives you the perspective on the vastness of the shot ! Log/water is very sharp. I like the way it is. We need the ship guys.. come on !

The ship could provide good perspective if it was recognizable -- but even knowing what it is, it still looks like a bug to me.
