Default Reflective Trainline

Reflective Trainline

This picture was taken along the Alaskan railway around Cantwell, Alaska. I love this picture because the sky is being reflected in the train tracks. It really jumps out to me because I love reflection pictures and this one was a surprise. I'm curious what others, especially those that are not so found of reflections, think of this capture. I think there is a lot going on which really adds to it for me. However, I don't know if it's almost overwhelming. I'm also curious if the angle of the shot to the train tracks is out of balance for others. Thanks for looking.

Nice composition, but colors too bright for me, little over the top. Any post processing ?

Default processing

There was some post processing done but mostly because I must edit all of my photos because I only shoot RAW images. The original obviously is washed out because of this. But I may have gone overboard. I can always tone down the processing. Thanks for looking and for the helpful coment.

I find the angle a bit distracting. Maybe you could try it with a straighter horizon line. It makes me feel like I'm falling to the right as I look at it. I like the concept a lot. I never considered a rail track for a reflective shot. Very nice idea!

Default Thanks

Thanks for the nice comments. Yeah the angle is a little disturbing but it was difficult for a straight shot because I was shooting only one not both tracks. But I will definately straighten it out next time. Thanks for looking!

I would suggest, rotate the image so the horizon is level. Then when you crop it to get the edges rectangular, also crop out a good bit of the sky. I think it's the clouds on the horizon that are getting reflected, so the greater expanse of sky really doesn't look like part of the image.

Default Second Chance

Her is a second take at a previously fun shot. The angle is a little bit better and the season/location has changed.

Trainline Reflection II

Let me know of any additional comments to this new image or the pair.
