I took this picture a while ago and just came across it again! I think it has potential to be a cool photo but don't know what I should have done differently! Any and all comments are welcome!

Hey Wacho,

I'm fairly new to photography, so feel free to disregard my comments; I feel like the most interesting object in this photo is the barrel, so perhaps you should shoot or crop closer to that.

I'd also like to see a larger image, if possible.

I don't really see anything that is a subject. It's a lovely shot that gives me the sense of wandering down an old country road, but...it seems like something is missing...a bird or squirrel running across the path, a lick of flames out the top of the barrel...something. There just isn't anything that makes me want to look at it beyond a cursory glance.

Just my humble opinion...I certainly mean no disrespect.

Thanks for your responses!

I agree that there is nothing that makes the picture pop! I didn't zoom out on the picture because there is a barn to the left that I thought would make the picture worse and I wasn't sure if the barrel was interesting enough to zoom in on it. Perhaps I am wrong though.

Default move in

the barrel is the only interesting thing in the pic. Move in and try some closeups of the rusty areas etc. Try another time of day for warmer lighting.
Keep shooting
