http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_G0I4rOx3Gb...h/IMG_1014.JPG Please let me know, how to show more height and depth in the picture ? Also on enabling options in my digi cam to capture more colors better. I am using a Canon A590 8 megapix digital camera and usually shoot in automatic mode. Thanks, Deepak http://randompicsphlogging.blogspot.com/ |

Try taking pictures that expose the sky as well as the trees. It's hard to do but sometimes the sky being washed out ruins the entire picture.

Welcome to DPS!!!!
May I ask that you check these out? Just so you know what to include or not to include within your posts. You'll find you'll get more responses if you actually post your image. (I cant see it)

Well...it looks like a lovely area, and if it's nearby your home, I hope you'll re-shoot it.
The sky is blown out. There is no color to it. Also, there is no saturation to the trees and grass...everything appears hazy. You can instantly and immediately improve your landscape photography by shooting at sunrise or sunset. Dramatic cloud coverage also works well. Lower light typically means higher color saturation, and the low angle light of sunrise or sunset will ALWAYS make things look better. It's just a better quality of light. For composition...you chopped off the tops of the trees and the top iof the mountain is very close to the top edge. Since you're using a point and shoot camera, you either need to be further away or have a wider angle capability in your camera to get more of the shot. If you can't do those things, go to the other extreme and focus on a smaller portion of the scene, such as a single tree backed by the mountain. I would recommend learning how to adjust the settings on your camera to get it to do what you want. Even point and shoot cameras will allow you a certain amount of control, it is just usually more cumbersome because they are in a menu, instead of right at your fingers...
