Default Steps to the water

I'm wondering about composition and contrast level for this image. I tried to center the steps (which looks like they're SLIGHTLY to the left), but that makes the opening to the water uncentered. To me it makes the image look a little unbalanced. I'm also wondering if other people think I might have overdone the contrast a little. I kind of like it, but I'd also like the image to look natural.

I think the contrast is alright, you'll probably find that there will be people who like it both ways.

The stairs do look very slightly off but it isn't significant, and again, I think you'll find there are people who like it either way.

One thing I would suggest would be to use a polarizing filter. That'll let you significantly reduce the harsh reflection in the water at the base of the stairs, and it'll also bring out the green in the shrubbery a lot more too.
