What are your thoughts?

Noticed you have a lot of grain in your photo. Having your iso set at 400 could be the cause of that. You dont need it set any higher than 100 or 2 at the most when shooting in bright sunlight.
I also noticed some of the leaves are totally blown out. Sometimes you can use a shirt or piece of paper to create some fake shade so this doesnt happen.

My Nikon D50 stays on 400 ISO, -0.3 exposure compensation, and Cloudy white balance for all outdoor shots, bar sunrise/sunset Ken

wow, i am amazed. I rarely and I mean rarely raise mine higher than 200. It also depends on your camera as well. Different cameras handle noise beter or worse than others

Your E-520 should be able to shoot at ISO 400 no problems. My E-510 (which is has the same image processing engine and sensor) can shoot at 400 no problem although I avoid 800 and 1600 except in emergencies. I do try to stick to 100 unless I need to go up but don't hesitate to go to 400.

It can and it will. Would rather not take the chance of having a grainy over overxposed image tho. For me, keeping it low works mighty well
