Default How the heavens opened up and God smiled

Hello everyone,

I saw this at the Nepal Himalayas:
From Nepal-09 Highlights

Exposure: 1/800 sec
Aperture: 7.0
Focal Length: 10.4mm
Flash Used: No

I like the rays penetrating visible through the clouds and lending a heavenly feel. Critiques of all manner requested and well appreciated

I like the subject but think it's a bit overexposed. My suggestion would be to use a polarizer, which will make the skies bluer and reduce the glare around the clouds. Also, why is your exposure so short (1/800)? I would've shot this at around 1/125 and used a much smaller aperture like f22. That would've given you greater depth of field and made the mountains clearer. Seems like a very beautiful place....where is it?

The image is from the Nepal Himalayas; it's a mountain-lake. I only had a point-and-shoot then. That's when i realized i'll need a camera with manual controls, so i just got one after returning home
