Really cool image you have there. I like it that we see silhouettes but also see some light on the background landscape so it is not just a black image. The 30 sec exposure gave you some great streaks on the road. according to rules of 1/3 you should not cut the picture in half but rules are made to be broken. I enjoyed watching your image.

Hi Barabe,

Thanks for the kind words.

I knew I was breaking the rules which I clicked this one. But there was nothing interesting above and below the frame. Above was dark sky and below was a dark valley. So I preferred breaking the rule to adding a lot of negative space.

You could actually still interpret this photo as having adhered to the 'rules' as the cloud line and the light trail are on thirds. So your not a rebel afterall!

For me its all a bit to dark and distant. The light trail is nice but it just cuts across the shot rather than flowing through it. This is probably because of the black surroundings rather than the placement in the shot. The sky is also very dark and bland and the whole photo is a little soft.

I like the idea but it just doesn't do it for me.

Fletch,

Thanks a lot for taking time to comment.

I understand what you mean. The image would really be very nice if the trail was more curvy.

Not really what I was thinking. I was trying to say it would be nice if I could see some of the detail in the landscape the trail was flowing through.
