Default Sunrise and Silhouette

I photographed this sunrise after my dogs woke me wanting to go out. I know, not that romantic but it was still an impressive sunrise. What I was wondering was, have I included too much negative space with the trees at the bottom of the image? I feel I should have maybe gotten more of the sky. What do you think?

Very nice colors.
I think you would have faired better by tilting your camera up a bit to include more of the sky and less of the negative space at the bottom.
Not a bad idea to include some of the foreground landscape but becareful not to include too much.

Great colors!

I agree with tvoelcker's suggestion! It would've been awesome to have more colors inside the frame, and since the foreground shadows of leaves are nothing but black it would've been ok if they're just a third of the photo.

great capture though! rule of thirds wouldve made it better! keep it up!

Default cropping

I agree with the above comments, but I think you could probably do a bit of cropping without loosing too much of the vibrant sky.

IMO, i think there is too much space at the bottom. I have tied posting silhouettes here in this section and from what I have learned, when the silhouette takes up too much space in your photo, it is better if you can see some details on them, and not be so dark. If it can't be done, I really think including more of the sky is a good idea. You have wonderful colors there and it should partly dominate the picture. This is just my opinion. Im not an expert in any way haha.

Thanks for the replies guys. I cropped it down to a more traditional rule of thirds type shot. I know it would have looked better with a bit more upward tilt (maybe next time). I also toned down the vibrance a hair. Anyway here is the cropped image.

Better? Worse?
