These shots were taken on the same beach just wondered people preferred the shot taken earlier in the day or the one taken later that same afternoon and do you think the people in the second one add or detract from the image

MMM...... I did wonder about the positioning of the people however it was the silhouette of the land that I was after so I'm quite pleased about that thanks for your input

I'd rather have them not be in the photo... maybe if they were just entering the frame from either side, that might help bring in a story in the photo.
These pictures are so calling for black and white. |

i like the first one best, i have looked at your local photos of stoke on trent on flickr there are great just shows what is around on our door step i am from the same area so nice to see thanks for sharing Jilll.

Definitely the first one...the colors are much richer in the first one, and the spacing of the clouds letting in that nice blue sky is more aesthetically pleasing than the latter photo. Not to mention, there's people in the second one which are otherwise ruining a perfectly good landscape shot...don't mind me, I've for whatever reason never been a big fan of people in landscape shots. Good exposure, good colors, great composition...overall well done.
