Default Death Can be Beauty (B&W)

alright, there is a lil park area in my town, near a middle school.
most people just walk the trails. ride horses or run.
but there is this tree next to the park thats dead, and have been wanting to take pictures of it for awhile.

but yea umm,
just want to no, if the white balance is to much?
if i should have cropped the picture just a little more on the left?

thats pretty much all i wanna know i guess.

I think the crop is fine, it works for me. If you went a little cooler on the white balance I think it would add a darker element to the photo which seems to be what you are after in this shot. I like shooting dead trees, I've done a few and have always converted them to black and white also. You did a good job on this one.

To my knowledge, a monochrome picture is all about different shades of gray from light to dark tones, white ballance does not do much here. White balance is there to make white seem really white and not what your camera thinks is white. I hope i'm making sense here.

For the composition of the shot, i like it the way it is. Your subject is clear. I would probably go a litle lighter on the contrast to show a bit more details.

Great composition! It's a nice subject also. I would agree with lightening up on the contrast a bit though.

Good work!

Great subject and good composition.
Only thing bothering me is that some of the limbs of the tree are blending in with the dark mountain side in the background. Nothing a little PP with lightening it up won't take care of.

Sorry, PP stands for post processing. Basicly reworking the image with photoshop, gimp etc.

hey i think the composition is okay, no need to crop in my opinion. I like your subject and it is able to convey the message that you want. I also agree about lighting up the contrast for better details.
