So I am in love with my d40 and enjoying the learning curve that goes with it. I took this one yesterday while taking my crazy kids for a walk in the park. I have been trying to stay with the basics here focusing on the rule of thirds.. I think i got it with the fence.
Suggestions for improvement welcomed..

I enjoy the fence and the nice lines it creates, it is clearly the main subject.
This is also a hard shot to take since there is a lot of contrast between the path, tall grass and the background. I feel the foreground is a litle overexposed and lacks details being so bright. Maybe a good candidate for HDR. I see in your signature that you have too much time on your hands, i would love to have some, please send some to me.
