Default Flowering Weed

Hi,
This snap was shot in afternoon, when the sun light was at an angle. I wanted to used this inclined sunlight as it hit the plant on one side and highlighting that side.Tell me your comments on this snap.

That's one raggedy looking weed, but the flowers are interesting. I'l bet these would look great lit from behind too!

I think this shot has potential and congrats on your first thought being how to use light to make the composition more appealing.
The scene is a bit crowded and the first thing that caught my eye was the dark colored leaf in the center of the three flowers to the right of the frame.
Second thing was the unnatural look of the sky.
I like the grouping of the three flowers to the right of the frame. I feel this should be your area of interest and crop everything else out. Or perhaps try a blurred effect to everything except this grouping of three.
The odd colored sky isn't letting the flowers pop the why I feel they should. If the sky was a more brilliant blue I think it would help a great bit.
Just a few quick thoughts.
