What do you think of this shot? I shot it at ISO800 so it hase some noise, but I think I like the noise. I adds character. I'm starting to like and experiment using noise to add to a photo. Do you like? Not like? Or any othe thoughts?

I like this photo. It's black and white, it's kind of edgy... as mentioned it has a nice dof, but it's hard for me to tell where the focus point is. I think having the second object (I don't know what they are, the loopy things) in focus would work best but it seems maybe the third one is in focus? Noise looks good, nice picture!

I like the idea.

To me, the depth of field is too shallow and starts too far away.
Look into "hyperfocal distance" (http://www.nikonians.org/html/resour...perfocal2.html)
Had you taken this at f11 the hayperfocal distance would have been aprox 8meters. So if focused at 8m then everything from 4 meters to infinity would have been in focus. At f5 the hyperfocal distance is closer to 20 meters, so if focused at 20 meters; everything from 10m- infinity would be in focus.Using a shorter focal length increases the depth of field as well. It looks like you focused too close as well even
for your settings...(the rule of focusing 1/3 into the field of view helps)

This is an example from my pics of using hyperfocal dist
Fall Tree and Leaves
f8 at 11mm focal length.
