Default Would you move the bridge??

I’m not quite sure about the composition on this one. Is the placement of the bridge in the right place or would you move it?
What do you think about the colors and exposure?

Thanks
Audra

I see nothing wrong with the placement of the bridge within the frame other than the bridge is a little dark therefore all the side support beams are kind of merging into one big blob. ( However perhaps it is just a bit dark on my monitor.
I think had you moved more to the right ,and shot with a little more of a side profile of the bridge ,it would have allowed some of the background color to appear behind the supports of the bridge. This I think would help to emphasis the individual lines of each support. ( I hope that made sense)
Another thing that is rather distracting is the bright spot of sky right against the left side of the frame between the tree and the edge of the frame. I would crop this out.
I love the color of the foliage, the beautiful colors of the sky and the water adds a nice calming element aswell.

I wouldn't have thought of that until you mentioned it. I can see though how cropping in just a bit more would allow the tree to frame the shot, and take some of the weight off the bridge.

I am a huge fan of geometry and strong lines, so I'd love to see more of the bridge supports. Also, since your subject seems to be the bridge, that would help bring the subject more into my attention. Looks like a very nice place for a photo!

Thanks dcclark
The bridge is just a couple miles from my house. I’m hoping to get there today or tomorrow to take some winter shots. The additional four inches of snow we received on Monday should make a great contrast with the black bridge.

Thanks again for all your help.

A snow covered scene should look great!
I love winter scenes especially with the interesting lines and curves of branches on deciduos trees and shrubs.
Can't wait to see some of your work..

Thanks Tom
I was able to get a few shots this morning after I dropped the kids off at school. I think a candid shot of myself would have been better.
I misjudged the edge of the river bank, due to a drift, and sank to my knees in the snow. I am sure I looked pretty ridiculous holding my camera in the air as I crawled up the snowbank. By the time I reached my car, I was covered. I quickly smacked off the snow, emptied my shoes, checked hair and makeup and made a mad dash to work. Arriving late, my boss took one look at my professional appearance, laughed and said, “Taking pictures again!!!”
