Hi everyone! This is my first post. I just joined.
This picture was taken on an ancient Kodak easyshare point-and-shoot, so I really have no idea what the ISO speed was or any of that. No worries, though, I'll be getting a real camera in March. ![]() This was taken inside of a moving car. I enhanced it a little by adding some contrast. If I could have actually taken the time to compose this shot, how could I have done it better? ![]() ETA: I found some of the photo details, if that helps. ![]() Focal length: 13.5mm Aperture: f/4.1 Exposure: Normal program (??) Exposure time: 0.003s (1/350) Last edited by Electric Sky; 02-10-2009 at 04:00 AM. |

Electic Sky, welcome. I'm no expert but what I would do to get a better composition is to shoot with the bridge higer in the frame and get less sky to possibly show what the bridge is crossing over. Also a slower shutter speed would bring out more detail in the whole in the bridge and foreground, whatever that may be. Here is an example of one of mine with similar composition. I hope this helps.

Sorry there Electric Sky but your post got buried rather quickly. I try to critique as many pictures as possible and especially ones that I feel I might actually be able to say something inspiring or partially intelligent.
Don't have much experience with bridge shots but the fact you took this from a moving car is amazing considering how clear it is. The bridge is rather dark thus not allowing much texture. However, perhaps a silouhette is what you was going for? The right side of the frame isn't doing much for me. There is just way too much black negative space that doesn't seem to add anything to the composition. However, I do like the tree at the top of this big black mass.. What intrigues me the most is the support beams coming up from the bottom. Is that some type of scaffolding or something around it? I really like the intersesting lines that are silouhetted from it. Anyways hope I was of some help.
