This is not a bad shot.
I like how you captured the sun and the effect of the rays is really neat !
There is a bit too much sky at the top of the frame above the clouds that don't really add much interest in my opinion.
However, more bothersome is how the mountain is running almost straight in-line with the horizon.
Might have to try some creative cropping to lessen this effect.

Yea I see what you mean about sky at the top of the frame. I guess if it was an effect all the way to the type, then it would be more interesting.
Thanks on your critique.

I can't see what I'm supposed to see. Wait a few minutes, and get the shot with the sun all the way down. Then get some different exposures to get more details in the canyon itself. This would have been a great time for some HDR work.

Thumbs up

I find it is a neat shot, I would have, Like EOBeav said waited a litle, and then lowered to 100 ISO, gone to lower aparture and longer exposure to get more details, but that is just me going crazy.

I like it, but I would have tried to get more of the foreground in the picture and a little less sky. As others have said if you waited just a little longer you might have gotten some more colors from the setting sun. The image was very small, but I tried to bring out a little more detail in the foreground for you:

^Thanks, I like how there's more color above the canyon rim to right.
