Welcome there shannong.
This is not a bad shot. Sunsets are a popular subject so you really have to be creative with the composition to set yourself apart from the crowd. Is that a Pine tree? I ask since it appears there are a couple of rather cylinder objects in the branches and pine cones is the only thing that comes to mind. Anyways, I think perhaps a more expanded view would have been nice with more of a rectangle frame than a square. However I'm not sure what is to the left or right of the cropped sides. You will probably get a alot of different opinions on the tree the way it is. I myself ,have posted a picture with a bit of a tree purposely left in the corner of the frame and some liked it while others didn't. It doesn't bother me and if it doesn't bother you than.. good job. If you included too much of the tree I think it might create a unbalanced feel with more weight on the right side of the frame. All said, nice colors and a pretty sunset..

Nice colors, and you hit the right moment to snap the picture. I wonder what a step to the right would have looked like, with more of that tree involved? What about a different angle for the bench? I agree, a quick horizontal adjustment may be in order. That's about a 3 second job in Picasa.
