Default Burnt out building

I am new to DSLR photography and I am trying to improve my composure and exposure. How did I do with this one?
D40X, Sigma 18-50 lens
Ap: 5.6
shutter: 1/25
iso 200.

I think you have a nice idea behind this shot but it is hard to see the details with such a litle picture. I also think that the whole shot is out of focus. I hope this was not your house.

you are right it is hard to see with the size of the picture. I was trying for a smaller DOF and only the rusty nails in the middle are in focus in the original. Here it is a little bigger. I hope the mod doesn't mind since two people haven't commented. Would a larger DOF be more appropriate.

The burnt wood surely made a good path for the eyes to follow. But the line also brings the viewer to the background which have too many cluttered things. Actually, if you would like us the see the nails as your subject, I would get so close to it. Make that center part occupy a big portion of the frame. But, on the otherhand, if you want to present the burnt house, fill the frame with the ruins but sharply focused. my 10 cents opinion.
