Thank you Chip. I was wondering if the flare was going to distract from the photo or not. Some times what I like is very opposite of what everyone else likes. It's a curse I've had over my shoulders sense grade school.
Feel free to edit my photos, any time. QUOTE=Chip;225752]It's a beautiful setting. And I do like the tree on the left - it gives context to the shot. For shooting into the sun, you did a great job getting details and colors. Did you do much, if any post-processing? I have a couple of thoughts about the composition - just offered as an alternative to what you've posted: since the flare is so stark and so pronounced, it arguably doesn't fit with what appears a very serene scene; and the blue sky to me isn't the strong suit of this photos - the strong suits are the greens and the reflection. With that it mind, how about cropping across the top, just above the 2 tallest trees on the right. Also, it might help to crop just a bit of the foreground.[/QUOTE] |

Gorgeous shot. I'm not sure if it would've been better without the glare or not. It does remind me to get a lense hood for my camera. So far, I've been lucky shading with my hand, but I'm lazy at times and so I better get a hood.
In this one, there aren't a lot of clouds, and so this photo might actually be better off with the flare. It sort of lets you know it was sunny. The colors are rich. I like the color of the sky. Where was this taken?

Do you live in Washington by chance? this was taken at Tiger Moutain in Washington which is off of I90. It's the trail that wraps around the lake. hmmm, and I do have a lense hood on this lense I was using but the flare was not going to be denied.
Thank you ![]() Quote:
