Default Dodger stadium panorama (no tripod)

Looking for a little feedback on this. I'm still new to the settings on the camera, this was set for auto, I'm working on my framing and then planning on exploring the more technical side of things in the near future.

This has been processed, I cloned out the ghosts I saw on the field, I wasn't able to clone the ghosting of the people in the stands is that a lack of talent on my part or could it not be done? I also saturated the pic with LAB color curves.

I'm not sure what I'm asking for other than if there is any glaring technical problems either in shooting or pp that anyone sees. I appreciate your time!

Deer weezerisrock,
I think your framing here was well chosen, since the baseline of the court is horizontal (on the opposite side) and the lines in the grass lead my eyes to the most important part of the game. The colourful fandom gives back the vivid atmosphere of the place. The comparison of figures in fore- and background shows the scale... I like this picture and could imagine as it hangs in the hall of the stadium. Maybe you have doubt because you edited a larger version and saw all the smallest details. I cannot find obvious ghosts or transparent persons at this size. The only thing I would clone out is the pink refraction on the sky above the tower(?). Thanks for sharing your work.

Wow thank you very much! The pink you see above the tower is clouds reflecting the sunset. But I definately think you are right! even at the largest size it would be difficult to tell that they are clouds, I think I will clone them out tonite.

And you were right too, I do see all the smallest details, I left the highest resolution on my flickr. Clicking the pic would take you there if you are interested.

I would like to thank you for your kind words, and suggestions!

That's REALLY good for shooting in auto mode. I really like the colors you've gotten, and the coverage of the view. No visible seaming. It's gorgeous. My only quibble is that the horizon seems slightly off-kilter, but I'm not sure it's worth sacrificing the real estate to a rotate & crop.

As for cloning out the ghosts, it typically depends on the amount of coverage you've got, and whether you've got two images that can gracefully merge. Sometimes you have to just live with it. It's definitely less noticeable in crowds. The only times I can get away with it with confidence are when I'm shooting a spherical pano with a 8mm fisheye with six shots around--that tends to give me triple coverage (i.e., I've got portions of three images to choose from around 70% of the sphere). You can consider using a larger overlap, but your stitching software might get confused.

I've got to echo everyone else here and marvel at your accomplishment without a tripod. Heck, I don't think I could get such good color/seam matches even WITH a tripod! If you've got ghosts there, it'd take pixel-peeping to see them.

Posters of shots like yours sell framed in stadium gift shops for $50 a pop. You have nothing to apologize for--that's a killer panorama.

Ok, I took a look at the full-sized version of it, and noticed the ghosts you couldn't clone out in the crowd. I'd say the reason those won't clone out cleanly is probably due to parallax error and their being too close to you, which causes the two images to not match up cleanly in the stitch. Handheld, there's probably nothing you can do about it. This is why you want to only do handheld panos on objects in the distance.

If you're going to shoot panos with very close foreground objects, a tripod and panohead start becoming more attractive.

Thank you guys even more for the kind words and the suggestions on improvement and why I couldn't do the cloning of the ghosts. I learned a lot from this shot just from you guys here and I appreciate it a ton.

Thanks
