Default San Francisco: Golden Gate Bridge

Howdy Folks,

I'd appreciate feedback on my recent image from the Golden Gate Bridge. The image is also my first real attempt at HDR. I took three captures [-2, 0, +2] and merged them with Photomatix. I tried to get as realistic a look as possible. So, if you've got any HDR feedback along with the rest, that would be great.

Thanks for looking.

I like this but you're gonna have to post all the EXIF data or you're not gonna get any feedback.

It is HDR. What EXIF data should I post?

Your colors are really nice on this in my opinion.

Maybe a bit more to the left to show more of the bridge into the distance perspective.

Real nice picture - at least to a noobie like me.

Love the freshness of the picture! One thing that kept bothering me though (maybe it is just me) is the Post on the extreme right, it seems to be taking away from the GG bridge. Perhaps moving a little to the left could take it away from such focus.

Again that is just my take on it, everyone's perspective is different so take it with a grain of salt =) Cheers!

It looks lovely. Maybe ever so slightly 'overdone' with the HDR. Some people like to that way, but I prefer it to look a little less like a painting. I'm finding the chain and posts in the foreground a bit distracting. If you cropped off the bottom 1/4 of the image how does that look? I wonder if that might help???
All-in-all a very good photo. Keep up the good work!

I've seen this composition before. The chain provides foreground interest and leads the eye into the image. The HDR exposure looks good. There are no blown out areas nor black areas with no detail. It doesn't look overprocessed. Good job!

I think you did a good job on the HDR. I think it still looks pretty natural. Maybe just a slight boost in contrast would make the colors/aspects of the photo pop out a bit more.

Overall I like this photo a lot. I think that the HDR levels are good. I think that the chain isn't very interesting as a focal point but I really like that it leads your eye out to the bridge, then you cross the bridge. I also like that you captured a wave in the shot.

The HDR is well done, good balance and not too surreal (although it is fairly obvious HDR has been used).

I am finding that when the sun (or very bright area as in this) is in the shot then 0,-2,+2 exposure range is not enough and I am getting better results merging up to 11 shot, 3 x 3 sets bracketed at +- 0.7 at -2,0,+2 plus a couple of manual setups at -4 or -3 and maybe +3. It is a bit fiddly though and would have to de-ghost the waves.. I wish that cameras allowed you more flexibility to program the range of exposures you wanted for HDR, 3 bracketed shots is too restrictive for my thinking..
