Default Crop/Composition critique

Hi everyone. This is my first post for critique. I'm looking for feedback on what crop/composition is most interesting. The first shot is the original and the 2nd/3rd are crops where I thought the moon was an interesting focal point. I did a little sharpening in Photoshop but otherwise haven't adjusted anything.

The photo was shot in Venice near Piazzo San Marco a few weeks ago.

Nikon D40x
Focal length 55mm
ISO 100
Aperture f/8
Shutter 1/20
WB: Shade

I don't see much difference in the compositions of the images. And yes the moon will be a focal point in just about any image that it is in. Not sure what you were going for here so I will guess and say you thought the sky was amazing and the moon made it even more so?

If so, then you would need to change the spot from which you made the image. There is too much going on in the bottom half of the image and it detracts from the sky and moon.

Hope this helps.

Jim
