I agree with the need for a smaller aperture (bigger number)... I feel there's also too much bland sky... maybe crop it a bit or recompose if you have the chance...
despite all this... absolutely amazing picture

I think im going to go back down here in a couple of weeks and use a tripod and try some more i like the pic it just to me is too noisey and kinda flat i think i took it pretty late at night i also took this is early morning i was looking for a sunrise in the back but it was overcast, not as good as a water glare tho but it was snowy
Exposure 0.1 sec (1/10) Aperture f/4.0 Focal Length 24 mm ISO Speed 1600

These still to me look totally unclear and like a noobish picture. It looks Grainy and Do you think a tripod shot would make a dif? And a dif F stop . Can i get rid of all that grainy look with a lower iso and a longer exposure time? Or is my moniter junk and it just looks grainey on my screen lol.
The Pic is nice but the quality to me looks like total crap refections are good but too much noise in my opinion how to fix that? Tripod and lowering the ISO? |

Nice set up for the shots. The problems I see are digital noise due to high ISO and camera shake due to slow shutter speed and no tripod.
Try this again with a tripod and a remote shutter release. If no remote shutter release use the timer. Check your manual about mirror lock up function. The last two also reduce possible camera shake. Also, for future posting of pictures please resize to no longer than 740 on the long edge.

If you lower the ISO and use a longer shutter speed... which will need to be even longer if he wants to use a smaller size aperture... He will lose the grain as a result which is good... but would he lose the quality of the reflections on the water too... which is not good... I am not sure... i never experimented with reflection on long exposure water... I know the water will become smooth and dreamy... but are the reflections lost? Thanks for your advise... you've been great in my learning process

I don't think what noise is in there is that noticeable.
Personally, I would crop the top off to just above the roof on the left - this will remove the wires, some "dead" sky, and helps create more of a "leading line" with the house boats. |
