I am a newbie, but I do like this shot. However you need to post your exif data or no one will respond.

Welcome to DPS. Good on you for jumping on in.

You got most of the Critique Forum Rules covered. Please include the EXIF and a specific question other than "what ya'll think". It will help.

I really like th photo, I would clone out the small tree that is laying towards the path. Other than that to my "new" eye it looks great!

I'm digging this as a B&W. For me, the bright sky in the distance is a bit too bright. I bet this would be a killer if shot at dawn or evening into night.

I dug this up. Give this a read, 11 Surefire Landscape Photography Tips. It is well worth the time spent

I too enjoy the photo. I think it could be even better if you crop some of the white space off the bottom and then off of one side (whichever one you like best) so that the path is not dead center- this will make it a much more interesting image I love black and white winter photos as well as shooting down a path so you are on the right track in my eyes! I love the sunlight hitting some of the branches! You were also able to capture some nice white snow and did not turn it grey in the b&w conversion I wonder if some foot prints would add or take away from the photo... can't wait to get out and take some winter shots myself! Thanks for sharing!

Great pic. How about cropping the bottom 1/6 of the photo? Also a slight vignette might look cool. You want to draw the eyes down the 'path'!

These are artistic opinions not hard and fast rules.

Thanks for all the comments!! i took some of your advice and cropped some white off the bottom and on one side, and cloned the fallen tree out, plus added a bit of the lens vignette, and it definitely adds to the photo!! i love it even more.
im definitely going back to this trail for more photos!
