Default Sacred Heart Statue

I shot this image with in an attempt to use negative space to highlight the subject as well as bring more of the background into the image. Could you guys comment on if, in your opinion, it worked or not as well as on other aspects of composition and the editing?

Thanks!

Lighting works well for me. The white balance seems a bit warm (works for the statue, not so much for the trees and sky). Very nicely exposed and very sharp.

As a graphic design, the statue is a bit too close to the lower left corner for my taste. But since I really dislike this use of a Dutch angle, the photo doesn't work well for me.

Other concerns: There is a prominent palm tree trunk on the right that draws my eye strongly, and the tower in the background is also distracting.

The part I'm not so sure about is the tilt. To me, it feel slike the statue is falling over backwards

Agree on the tilt- I usually like a slight angle in a lot of my photos to make them a little more artistic but in this one, I do feel that the statue is about to take a tumble You can easily fix that though, just straighten it and then try adjusting the crop and white balance as mentioned above

your subject was the statue but the focal point is on the palm tree trunk which on the first glance is more given attention than the statue.. regarding the graphic design it was good.. the contrast between the statue and background is nice.. You also got the right lighting..

I agree that the slope of the statue feels wrong. I actually think that cropping out all the background distractions and having mostly leaves in the background might work well. You really need the statue to be the focus of the image. The contrast between the statue and the leaves is good.
