Hey guys, I'm a total amateur and this shot is from when I was still trying my camera. It's in Mauritius Island. Constructive critiques please

The vegetation framing the shot is too much for my taste. Once I do see through the branches, there really isn't a focal point for the eye to settle on. Seeing a sunset, person walking on the beach or boat in the water would give the viewer a focal point. Shooting in the golden hours will give you softer light and less dynamic range and you may not have to "hide" the bright sun behind some branches.

It needs a center of interest.

Even a person in the foreground on the right looking out at the sea would have given it more purpose.

However without a center of interest it could be a frame for some words.

I agree with both of you, too much framing and no center of interest.

Thanks guys, I'll pay more attention next time. For the framing though, I agree that there's too much vegetation but I what I really wanted to show with the picture is more like an element of surprise in the form of the sea. As if you were lost in a forest and suddenly, popping out of nowhere, you would find an exit if you know what I mean cause this place where I was was really like a sort of forest with no water or anything at all but vegetation and when you get out, you find the sea. It was pretty cool. Not sure if I really got what I wanted via this shot though. I guess that it's missing some things like you said. Thank you for your advice
