Moon Shadow 1

I took this picture last night of the full moon. I do understand that the picture is not clear as I basically just have an upgraded pont and shoot camera. I decided to do a long exposure, 15 sec. My end result is a shadow of the moon. I am wondering if anyone knows how I did this. I was not expecting this result. My new cannon EOS is arriving soon and I would like to recreate this effect with a better lense.

Lens flare/ghosting. It will happen whenever you include a very bright light in frame and sometimes when the light is out of frame but shining on the front element. Filters, especially cheap filters, make it worse.

Thank you for answering this question. I will have to research this, as it happened in almost all of the pictures. Was just weird. And I couldn't figure it out. Thanks again

I had the same issue, play with the settings on your camera and I'm sure you can get it if I can. Here are my examples and and their settings. Hope this helps.

***UPDATE***
Just realized I misunderstood your post LOL, don't think I'll be much help with your question though. Sorry
