Is this too cropped?

Afternoon everyone! Is this photo too butchered with the crop job? I loved the tree and the lighting but there was a big old parking lot right off camera. I wanted to crop that out for a more timeless look. I then did another small crop to center the tree as it was a hair off of the center line. Now that I am looking at the finished results I am thinking I cropped it too much?

Brook, it's a portrait of a tree, and no different than a portrait of a person. There's nothing that says you have to get the whole tree in the photo for it to work..not unlike shooting a person. I like the fact that you captured some nice detail with the hanging moss, and I like the cluster of leafs in the center of the trunk. Nice job, I like it

If it was your intent to feature the inner part and base of the tree, then I don't feel that you cropped too much. It does look underexposed to me, though.
