Default Does this image work in B/W?

I took this shot a few weeks ago with the intention of converting it to black/white. It was late morning on a overcast day. I’m basically submitting this photo to get your guys’ opinions on the photo. Does it work in b/w? Do you thing it’s overly done? And what can I do to improve the photo?
Thank in advance.

I can't decide: I love the B&W a whole lot for the scene, but I feel like the reflection is a bit dark, which takes away from the subject a bit. However, at the same time, I love the overall contrast of the scene that the dark reflection gives. For some reason, it reminds me of a ying yang. Assuming there is not middle ground, it seems to me that it depends on if you goal was photographing the subject with the scene to compliment it, or if the scene as a whole is the priority.

EDIT: I kept looking at it and I like it best how it is. Well done.

EDIT 2: And to answer your original question, I think it B&W was a good choice.

I quite like the black and white, though I think I'd bring up the midtones with a curves adjustment. (The highlights and shadows are in about the right places for a punchy image.) I mostly like the composition; it's simple enough to be easily comprehensible but well arranged with nice graphic elements.

Things I'd try to change:

The photo seems to tilt to the right when I look at it. This might be because you held the camera a bit off level or it might be because most of the strong image elements tilt the same direction, but at any rate it doesn't feel quite right to me.

I think I'd like a bit more image (or perhaps a bit less) at the bottom of the frame. The grass feels like it's awkwardly cropped to me.

I agree with Doug above me on all points.

It would be interesting to have some foreground element below the grass and then to end the photo on the tree and some of the dramatic clouds you have there.

Overall I think the image is great and that B/W is well suited for it as it is quite a mood setter!
